P.S. 212 Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy Spring Families!

As we enter the month of April, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your ongoing commitment and dedication to our school community.

April marks a wonderful time of the school year, filled with new opportunities for growth, learning, and reflection. As the days grow longer and warmer, I look forward to seeing the continued enthusiasm and energy from both the staff and students. I also hope we can continue to create a positive and enriching environment that fosters curiosity and academic excellence for all the students.  April brings ELA state testing for our third – fifth graders.  Our 3rd grade will take the exam by paper and pen and our 4th-5th graders will take the exam online.   Please be sure your child gets rest and eats a proper breakfast.  Our doors open for breakfast at 7:30 am.  The test is untimed, and students are permitted to work until 2:10 pm.  Therefore, rest and nutrition are important towards having the proper stamina to do well.

Please refer to the chart below regarding the Spring 2025 State Testing Dates.

School Survey

Dear Parent/Guardian,
The 2025 Parent Survey is here!  The results of this survey will be reported and will be available to view publicly.  IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU PARTICIPATE IN THE SURVEY.  We ask that all families complete the survey at www.nyccschoolsurvey.org  or paper and pen using the green envelope sent home.  Survey opens Monday, February 10, 2025.
What if I have more than one child in school?
You only need to complete one survey per family. Each family who completes the survey will be entered into a super raffle. Notify your child’s teacher ( including siblings) if you completed it so the class can get a party.

How can parents/guardians take the survey ?
Parents/guardians can take the survey on PAPER or online at www.nyccschoolsurvey.org. To access the survey, parents should enter the letter“ f ” (lowercase) followed by their students identification (OSIS) number which can be found on their report card, student ID card or NYCSA account. (e.g. f123456789)
Is the survey translated?
Yes. The online and the paper version of the survey for parents/guardians and students is provided in English as well as nine additional languages offered by the NYCDOE: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Russian, Spanish and Urdu. The online survey is available at NYCSchoolSurvey.org.

The deadline is April 4, 2025.  Return your envelope sealed or contact your child’s teacher for a chance to enter our SUPER RAFFLE. All classes that have 100% Participation will get an ice cream party!    Please contact Ilia Liff Iliff@schools.nyc.gov  or 347-563-4628 if you need assistance.
